Once Upon Vigan

Once, there was a municipality called Vigan. It was always been an old place where Spanish colonialism had once flourished. The municipality had adapted the foreigners glory within roads, walls, transportation, language, and delicacies that mostly molded the contemporary. Moreover, the people of the municipality had been viable through centuries with the heavy dependency on fishing, farming and trades.

Now, it is called a city. The government had launched a law that states the conversion of the municipality of Vigan into a city, Ciudad Fernandina. It has evolved and innovated, a lot. The citizens ruled by the governor had neatly planned for improvisation by constructing various places such as the Baluarte Zoo, Bicentennial Park and the famous Dancing Fountain, the heart of Vigan. Hence, local business thrived as well as tourism and, thus, the Heritage Village was thereby proclaimed as a part of United Nations, Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) list.
